Moisture and Soil Temperature
t003-TRHTC
Moisture and Temperature Probe
The probe measures the temperature and volumetric content of soil water through the use of a capacitive measuring principle that allows rapid field measurements with minimal invasiveness. The volumetric content of water is defined as the ratio between the volume occupied by water in a given portion of soil and the total volume. As a result the measurement can be expressed as a percentage of the water volume with respect to the total volume.
The circuit board is protected inside a housing made of plastic material and sealed with epoxy resin which allows to achieve reliable measurements even in harsh environmental conditions.
The probe is supplied with an RS485 digital output and Modbus-RTU protocol. This solution ensures the use of very long connection
cables. The sensor is also supplied with a standard 5m power and signal cable.
t003t-SMP
Soil moisture profiler
The SMP subsurface probe is a capacitance-based soil moisture and temperature monitoring device offering up to 15 sensors per probe. The subsurface probe requires an external logger and external power supply to collect soil temperature and moisture profile information. The sensors are encapsulated inside a probe rod at different depths with a pitch of 10 cm, and the measurement of each pitch represents the value of the respective 10 cm interval [-5; +5]. Thanks to its tapered shape, the probe can be easily installed in most types of soil. In addition, SMP can be completely buried, ensuring a fully customizable measurement step while reducing the risk of damage to machinery.
The probe can be supplied in different lengths from 200 mm to 1600 mm. SMP is supplied with a 5 m cable for power and signal.
