Wave and Tidal Characterization

Poseid1

Meteomarine Measuring System

Buoy with mono mooring (on a single point) with mooring of adequate configuration in consideration of the seabed on which it is positioned (maximum depths of 50 m. and a distance from the coast ranging from a minimum of 1 mile to a maximum of 10 miles depending on the bathymetry of the area).

Tidal Gauge

Meteomarine Measuring System

This tide gauge is equipped with a still pipe made with a 40 cm diameter plastic pipe, closed on the upper part and equipped with 4 side “scuppers” for water recycle.
Pipe is fixed to the pier by 2 adjustable brackets and it’s also equipped with a “cage” in steel pipe for protection against accidental collision with boats.
The system could be equipped with a staff gauge (in plastic) which can be fixed at still pipe side, for an easy view. The mounting is made by a suitable stainless steel support (slide) equipped with fixing terminals, which allow the staff gauge could be easily removed and replaced for any purpose.
In the upper part of the pipe (inner part, under the protection “dome”), a circular plate is installed, it’s made in crushproof materials, and it’s used as a support for level sensors:
– Radar Level Sensor (TLR) completed with a
waveguide cable and protection pipe for the cable itself.
– A digital level sensor (shaft encoder – TIDROM), fioating type
A water temperature sensor is also installed in the still pipe.
The upper part will be closed by a proper lid (dome-vented), which should be used for lodging and protecting the sensors.
